To answer that very question, an online campaign, I AM AN ELVIS FAN, was created to invite fans, from the most die-hard devotees to the more casual admirers, to vote for their favorite recordings by Elvis from seven musical genres. These categories, which survey the broad musical spectrum Elvis covered throughout his long and varied career, were 50s, 60s, Country, Movies, Love Songs, Gospel and In Concert. The categories and tracks were posted online, where the voters selected their three top choices in each genre. During the same voting period, Elvis Presley Enterprises also invited fans to upload photos of themselves to be used in an exclusive Elvis photo mosaic. The mosaic, comprised of thousands of fans' images, is also used as the cover of this album package.
So after casting hundreds of thousands of votes, the fans have spoken, and here you have it. I AM AN ELVIS FAN - a compilation FOR Elvis fans, BY Elvis fans.
