Late on Christmas Eve 1970, Elvis called Lowell to do his Christmas shopping. Lowell met Elvis at the Memphian Theater, a local movie house with a briefcase of jewelry. Elvis went through the briefcase and very carefully selected pieces of jewelry for friends, family, his aunt and his dad. From that night on Lowell became Elvis' Jeweler. Elvis would call Lowell whenever he needed jewelry any time day or night. Elvis invited Lowell to join him on tours with one requirement—that he bring along a full case of jewelry!
